A Message from our President
|
May 2012
Last evening I attended the Awards Night for the Omaha Public Schools Career Center and presented scholarships to two deserving young men of the Construction Academy. For more than ten years, the Nebraska Chapter has donated two $500 Scholarships to students participating in the construction department of the career center. Chapter member John Armknecht has been instrumental in keeping alive our connection to the academy for the entire time and we thank him for his continued service. The scholarships this year went to Jacob Schneider and Nicolas Lopez - both seniors in the Omaha Public School System and students of the Construction Academy. Watch our website and facebook for pictures of the event. Congratulations to Jacob and Nicolas!
Congratulations are also in order for member Eileen Korth and the rest of the NE board for doing a fantastic job in the execution of the North Central Region Conference. Lots of compliments were floating around about the venues, the food and activities. I think we set the bar pretty high! Way to go!
The year is winding down with only two more meetings before the summer break. The May 14th meeting will be a tour of DLR's new office in Arksarben Village. Check out our website - www.csinebraska.org - for information and reservations. June's meeting is a membership appreciation night and awards night. Watch the site for information and venue on that event. Mark Deetz and his committee are working on the details.
Thanks again for all who attended and worked on the conference - job well done.
See you in May!
